Master mind groups are intensive, interactive sessions, conducted in a combination of workshops plus online sessions with a group of no more than 10 people.

We conduct Masterminds with people from a single organization or with people from multiple organizations.

Most Mastermind sessions are held for a period of 120-150 minutes twice a month for 3 months, although we can customize them according to client requirements.



Christine MacNulty, FRSA, CEO of Applied Futures, is delighted to be offering a new Mastermind Group for women business owners, starting in January 2017 in the DC Metro area.

Many women business owners have been concerned that the traditional, logical/rational approach to strategic planning has not suited them, and now is the time to take a new approach – Strategy with Passion – that is more intuitive and heart-felt.

The Mastermind will run two 2-hour sessions per month for 3 months, plus 2 coaching sessions for individual participants.  The first and last sessions will be face-to-face, and the rest via telecon.  Space will be limited to 10 people, and the precise dates and times will be determined in consultation with the participants.

Why Masterminds?

In a recent survey of executives,

  • 57% of senior executives admit that the pace of change in all arenas – technological, social, political, economic, marketplace – is taking them by surprise, and they do not have the capabilities to deal with it
  • 42% said securing the long-term relevance of the company in the context of the change is at the top of the agenda.
  • Only 7% of all employees trust their leaders.

They need help in understanding the change that is occurring, dealing with it, and turning it into opportunity.

Andrew Carnegie, once the wealthiest man in the world, had a Master Mind group of more than twenty people to assist him in manufacturing and marketing steel.  He attributed his entire fortune to the power he accumulated through this Master Mind, as he started out as a poor immigrant.  Henry Ford was also poor and not well educated when he started, yet he surrounded himself with a Master Mind Group that included Thomas Edison, Harvey Firestone, John Burroughs, Luther Burbank and more.  He, too, suggested that this group enabled him to become one of the wealthiest and best-informed industrialists of his time.  And many other successful industrialists of the early 20th century used this approach – Ford, Bell, Edison, Gillette, Filene, Woolworth, Wrigley, Curtis, Eastman, Schwab…

Napoleon Hill, who catalogued the methods and the results of Master Minds, said “No two minds ever come together without, thereby, creating a third, invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind.”

In other words, it is an excellent means to generate synergy and innovation – especially in this world of specialists and silos.

Details of the Mastermind Program

This is a program for individual business owners who want to advance their businesses and achieve specific goals over the next two years by becoming more strategic and more able to deal with changes and problems.   Each Mastermind Group will be composed of 10 people from different organizations.  The program will be structured so that each individual will have the opportunity to put forward problems and issues of concern, and the whole group will work on them together.   The coaching that is included in the program will be focused on the individual and her business needs.

This Mastermind Program will start the week of 23 January 2017.   All participants must have signed up by 16 January.

We will start with a 2½ hour, face-to face workshop.  The next 5 sessions will be 2 hours, conducted by telecon; each participant will have 2 half-hour coaching sessions; and the final workshop will be a second 2½ hour, face-to face workshop (7 workshop sessions in total.)  By the end of that workshop, the participants will have achieved all their original objectives for the workshop, and more.   During the 5 telecon sessions, two participants will be given the opportunity to sit in the “hot seat,” where each can ask specific questions about her business, and the whole group will focus on them and provide answers or solutions.

The cost of participation in the Strategy Mastermind Program will be $2,700 payable on registration, or in two payments – the first of $1,500 on registration, and the remainder of $1,200 on February 17.
